This is a bobby dazzler of a walk which we only discovered a few years ago. It takes in a relentlessly slow and steep climb at the start but rewards your efforts with beautiful sweeping views on a clear day from the summit. The path up includes a winding paved road, some rough patches, stiles and ladders. Whilst we've done this walk with our kids when they were much younger it's definitely more suited for people with a medium + level of fitness.

We'll head out of Ambleside and start the steep but long climb taking in the views as we go. Don't worry we'll have frequent stops for drinks as we go. Depending on the weather we will either stop for our packed lunch at the top or shortly afterwards as we head down. The descent is long and steady versus short and tricky so it's good terrain for a natter as you go and soak in the views.

This is a circular walk so we will finish in Ambleside for a brew before we head off home.

FAQs

What should I bring? = Walking boots, waterproofs, suncream, rucksack, 2 litres of water, packed lunch plus any sweets and nibbles you fancy. A flask of coffee is also a good shout!!

Can I bring my dog? = Yes, but they will need to be on a lead the whole day.

What's the cost? = This walk is £45 per person, but 100% will be donated to the Alzheimer Society in memory of Martin's late father Bob, who lost his battle with the disease in 2019.

What's the group size? = Maximum of 10 for this walk.

How fit do I need to be? = Fairly fit as this is a 5 - 6 hour walk with a long steep climb. If you run and can run 5K in under 30 minutes we'd say this is a good fitness barometer.
What pace will we walk at? = Don't worry we don't race around, this is a leisurely walk where we go at the pace of the slowest person/people.
