High Street is a great, walk and at 828m, is the highest peak of the Eastern Fells in the Lake District. Surrounded by tarns, reservoirs and dramatic mountain scenery, this walk is another classic that showcases the very best of the Lake District. The area is also steeped in history with Roman roads, horseracing, fairs and wrestling!
A great way to escape the masses and enjoy some exceptional hillwalking in one of the most beautiful parts of the Lake District. A challenging walk, in terms of distance and ascent, but the route is grassy and the slopes not too steep. This walk is more suited for people with a medium + level of fitness as 5+ hours on your feet is a fairly long day out.

We'll head out of Hartsop and start our walk heading anti-clockwise where we will summit Thornthwaite Crag, High Street, The Knott, Rampsgill Head and Angle Tarn. Depending on the weather we will either stop for our packed lunch at the top or shortly afterwards as we head down.

This is a circular walk so we will finish in Hartsop and then head to a nearby cafe / pub for a well deserved brew before we head off home.
